When this blog first began, it featured all things quilty and was titled Art From The Heart. Years go by, interests morph, horizons expand, and all of a sudden you realize you are a quilter, yes...but also a spinner, weaver, knitter, crocheter, mixed media, fiber artist. The art is still from the heart, but the new name reflects my excitement with all things fiber! It's Fantabulous!
Thread painting practice continues...though I am being pulled toward a style of landscape that begs exploration! The neat thing about the thread painting is buying lots of fun threads! :?}
I am not a drawer or painter, so I "cheat" by printing the picture on fabric, backing with stiff tear-a-way interfacing. That way I know where to shade! But the fun thing is, you don't have to stick to the original color pallet, especially with iris, since flowers come in so many variations. I had variegated thread I wanted to use, so the yellow petals became beige/brown/rust and gold/yellow. The background batik 'made it' I think! Go for it, mainer!
OOOO, I like that! Did you use a pattern?
