I made this quilt a couple of summers ago I think...but I just never took the time to make sure I had a decent picture of it. (When I first began quilting I was SO going to take a picture of every creation, humble or high and mighty, but we all know how THAT goes!)
Saw this quilt on the cover of a magazine and went straight to my batiks and went at it in my favorite colors and tried for seasonality in each block. Somewhere in the process a stain showed up on the winter block...thus the butterfly fluttered to the rescue and added charm as well as coverage!
When this blog first began, it featured all things quilty and was titled Art From The Heart. Years go by, interests morph, horizons expand, and all of a sudden you realize you are a quilter, yes...but also a spinner, weaver, knitter, crocheter, mixed media, fiber artist. The art is still from the heart, but the new name reflects my excitement with all things fiber! It's Fantabulous!

Baby Bennett's Quilt
My very dear, extremely sweet (and kind of tiny!) mother-in-law commissioned me to make quilts for her great granddaughters (fraternal twins) born in July 2010, and upcoming great grandson, Bennett, who is to arrive in November. She has had the pattern since the '70's I think, but it sure turns out cute quilts!
