When this blog first began, it featured all things quilty and was titled Art From The Heart. Years go by, interests morph, horizons expand, and all of a sudden you realize you are a quilter, yes...but also a spinner, weaver, knitter, crocheter, mixed media, fiber artist. The art is still from the heart, but the new name reflects my excitement with all things fiber! It's Fantabulous!

Pincushions, Trial Batch
As I have mentioned before, I am EASILY sidetracked by new ideas, fun tutorials, informative shows...So, when I stumbled upon an episode of Simply Quilts while researching pin cushions, I just had to try that method of blender for the wool and dryer for the felting of the balls of wool. Now what? Rummaged through my plethora of doodads and came up with some pretty ribbon. Decided to sacrifice a wee bit of my just-purchased wool roving and delved into my late grandmother's button tin. I filled the wool square base with bird grit for ballast and for sharpening of needles. I 'tied' the wet blendered wool with rubber bands to make grooves in the finished product. It was a lot of fun.
Pincushions-$7 plus actual shipping costs. Email weber.lindy@gmail.com for more info.

Osprey in progress
Now he has a beak and a back...and I am still dragging my heals re: making Ponderosa pine needles! I think they will look great, but if not, ospreys build their nests on man-made platforms, dead trees...so I don't HAVE to have green pine needles.
Osprey is progressing! I kept adding to the nest, in order to avoid building the bird...but once I broke him into sections and started whacking fabric, otherwise known as 'fussy cutting', he started coming together! He still needs his back and beak, but looking good!The feather seems to want more definition. I am toying with the idea of fuzzy yarn for fluff. I will apply the fine black netting over the nest to hold down the dozens of pieces. All the raptors nests are SO messy! Not sure what the border will be, and if the limbs should travel on out to the border. Decisions, decisions...this is such fun! (Fun, but I am avoiding the ponderosa pine needles part...) :?}

Got Kate's baby dressed in Kenyan wear, Kandu. We have yet to know if Kate and her doll will be living in Kenya...

Happy Valentine's Day!
This wall quilt began as a row robin. The unusual 'red' was used to go with the matching accent wall in my living room. Nothing like hanging a quilt on the wall to realize how wonky it is...perhaps I should begin, finally, to measure my quilt through the middle and cut borders to match? Ya think!

Multi-tasking? Multi-messes!!!
I just can't seem to create one thing at a time, especially when I have been gobbling up books from the library on trapunto, felting, landscapes, fabric faces, etc. Then add 50+ blogs to wander delightedly through from the listings on QA and-mayhem! So many styles of art-dolls, painting, fabric, clay, quilts, clothes, bags, scarves- creative mayhem! I knew I was chuck-full of inspiration, but at one point today I actually became aware of my surroundings. Oh, my! Lands sakes alive!
Tasks; mending, 3 different thread painting project, kandu for Kenya-bound doll, landscape, trapunto, contest entry...In order to use my wall to view some of these I had to, once again, cover over my poor African lady. I did apologize to her. Out loud even...
